Saying No to Dengue

From January 1 to August 8 of this year alone, the Philippine Department of Health has already recorded 55,079 suspected dengue cases. News like this certainly alarm us. It makes us wonder how safe our corner is in this archipelago from the threat of dengue.

Not many people might have noticed that despite continuous studies for the treatment of dengue, this mosquito-borne disease appears to be stubbornly resistant to cure! There was an epidemic outbreak that affected both the Philippines and Thailand in the 1950s. And yet today, the threat of dengue still hounds us. Despite the availability of vaccines, we are not yet that sure how effective it really is in the fight against dengue.  Even last year, there was news that there is now a new type of dengue. And this apparently new dengue strain, unfortunately, may even be more capable of enduring our body’s defense mechanism.

Now we may be tempted to go beyond wondering to worrying how we might indeed fight against dengue. Well, it will do us all good to remember that it in the face of sickness (or any problem for that matter), we do not need to be passive. We can do something. We can continue to commit our health to God, eat a healthy diet and do exercise to strengthen our immune system, clean our surroundings from possible breeding places of the dengue-bearing mosquitoes. And yes, we can also choose to use environment-friendly mosquito killers. We can STRIKE back against dengue!

ATC has come up with a fast-acting multi-insect killer product that has a water-based formula which effectively kills mosquitoes and other insects. And it is appropriately named Strike.

What sets Strike apart from other insect or mosquito killing products is that it has lower toxicity making it safe for people, pets and even for plants to be exposed to it. Strike is environment-friendly unlike other oil-based insect killers. It doesn’t contain Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC). Added benefits from using Strike include: no stains left on the surfaces of your home and no disturbing odors.

Aside from the multi-insect killer spray, Strike also is also available in other variants: Strike Coil Mosquito Repellent, Strike Mat, Strike Liquid Mosquito Electric Repellent and Strike Patch.

Strike Multi-Insect Killer Spray is affordable as it only costs P130.00 (SRP) for the 300 ml can and P246.00 (SRP) for the 600 ml can. Check out Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide and get your hand some Strike power against dengue!
